Homesales for the whole of last year were up almost 5% compared to 2023 accordingto the latest data from Maine Listings.
Improvingnumbers of homes available for sale in 2024 certainly played a part in moreproperties changing hands. 14,287 homes were sold in 2024 up by 4.89% over the13,621 that sold statewide in 2023.
Themedian sales price (MSP) was also up year-on-year from $360,000 to $390,200 -an increase of 8.39%.
TheMSP indicates that half of homes sold for less and half for more.
Salesof existing family homes were up last month by 15.04% when compared to Decemberof 2023. The median sales price for those homes reached $400,000—a 14.12%increase over that same period.
